6/21/2023 0 Comments Battletech timberwolf![]() The Timber Wolf is a fast, heavy OmniMech. For close combat, the A configuration has three Medium Pulse Lasers, an ER Small Laser, and a Streak SRM-6 to find any weak points in an enemy's armor. Configured specifically for long range, direct fire combat, the A configuration of the Timber Wolf is armed with a pair of ER PPCs. When first encountered by Inner Sphere forces the idea that a heavy 'Mech could move so swiftly while being as heavily armed and armored as the Timber Wolf was inconceivable. A signature design of the Clans' military might, it was arguably the first Clan OmniMech encountered by Inner Sphere forces on The Rock in 3049 by Phelan Kell. +10% walking distance, +10% sprinting distance, +10% jump distance, +1 accuracy with ranged weapons, -6 heat at the end of the turn, -30 melee accuracy The default configuration of the Timber Wolf features a well blended mix of energy and missile weaponry: paired ER Large and LRM-20s at range and paired ER Mediums and Machine Guns with a Medium Pulse at close range guarantee there is no safe way to approach a Timber Wolf. It's like a racing game where you have up to middle tier cars but all the cool cars you can't drive because wtf.The Timber Wolf is a fast, heavy OmniMech. ![]() it's like having a car racing game but you can only drive a Chevy Impala and not ferraris and lamborghinis etcetera. You want to make a full energy variant? It can do that too! You want a catapult equivalent? It can do that better than a catapult and still have more teeth for the occasional close encounter. You want a close combat slugger? it can do that. I can see that there is something interesting in doing such. Customizing inner sphere mechs to laserboats and such took that magic away. It was how you could win with mechs which had flaws built into them and play to their strenghts. In the board game you never got a mech which was great at everything. Show the decision makers how successful the Battletech franchise can be instead, so they'll want to invest in future Battletech content, including the Clans.īecause, you know.I want the Mad Cat someday too. If you're a fan of the Clans, and you want to see this game or anything like it develop for the Clan era, then support this game and those who enjoy it so it's successful enough to prove MORE Battletech development should be invested in.and so a future expansion can be released in the Clan era.Ĭomplaining about it being Classic Battletech era/Inner Sphere based to start off with will only turn potentially interested players away from the game due to your toxicity, killing sales, and killing your hopes for future Clan era development along with them. PGI won't do this type of thing, and they don't have the license to either. It took Jordan Freaking Weisman the creator of Battletech to do it. ![]() They'll only see your negativity and reconsider future investment in Battletech video games.Īnd no, someone won't "just Kickstart another game" because they'd have to cut deals with the Battletech IP owners Microsoft and possibly Topps/Calatyst to get it done and that's not easy to accomplish. They WON'T see "the interest of so many fans" because that's not how they think. If you kill this game (or significantly hurt its sales) with angst, there won't be a Clan era game to follow because you'll prove to investors the fans of our niche hobby are too toxic to deal with. Talk about short-sighted gamer angst shooting yourself in the ass while spraying ♥♥♥♥ on everyone else's day, including the hopes of other Clan fans. It's a classic Battletech game set in the 3025 era, before the Clans.and if it's successful, it will progress through the timeline to the 4th succession war, and then the Clan era.īut, a few fans of the Clan era prefer to ♥♥♥♥ on things other people enjoy because it's not what they themselves enjoy, which can hurt the success of the game that can lead to the very thing the Clan fans want.the game expanding into the Clan era.
